In another time and place, his adversary could have been mistaken for a girl. About Josh’s age, with gleaming blond curls, he was dressed in a short white tunic tied on one shoulder. He was tanned and slim and very fast.’
There had been no time for introductions. One minute, Josh and Megan had been in the horsebox, next they were being challenged to a sword fight by this warrior boy. Josh scrambled to his feet, his black hair dripping with sweat.The weapon in his right hand was like an overlong carving knife, the curved blade glinting in the midday sun. He adjusted his grip on the hilt. The blond boy lunged and this time Josh managed to dodge the attack without falling over.
“Better!” his opponent shouted and lunged again.
